RAUTER BECOMES ENERGY SELF-SUFFICIENT!

RAUTER, the Styrian concrete specialist and subsidiary of the Kirchdorfer Group, is taking the next step in environmental protection. On September 23, the newly installed photovoltaic system and the new boiler were blessed by Pastor Ciprian Sascau.

As part of the annual staff party, the Rauter team demonstrated its measures for sustainable energy management. In August, a 500 kWP photovoltaic system, which was installed on the roofs of the production halls, was put into operation. This can generate around 500,000 kWh of electricity, most of which is consumed by the company itself. The amount of electricity generated is roughly equivalent to the annual electricity requirements of 100 households. The renewal of the wood chip heating boiler is also in the final stages and will go into operation in the next few weeks.

Managing Director Wilfried Klade is visibly proud of the new measures: “With this plant, we are saving 46 tons of CO2. That’s the equivalent of planting over 2,100 trees. Our aim is to become energy self-sufficient. This investment is sustainable for the coming decades and was implemented at exactly the right time,” Klade is convinced.

At the Niederwölz site, the storage area was also expanded in 2020 with an area of approx. 14,000 m² and two gantry cranes with a load capacity of 20 and 30 tons were installed. During this ceremony, the new investments and the employees were blessed by Pastor Ciprian Sascau, in the presence of Mayor Albert Brunner and GR Hubert Lochmann.
