MICHAEL WARDIAN, MANAGING DIRECTOR OF THE KIRCHDORFER GROUP, IS THE NEW PRESIDENT OF THE VÖB

At the last Annual General Meeting of the Association of Austrian Concrete and Precast Plants (VÖB) in early June, Michael Wardian, Managing Director of the Kirchdorfer Group and Kirchdorfer Fertigteilholding GmbH, was unanimously elected VÖB President. The 51-year-old building materials expert is particularly interested in developing the concept of sustainability in the precast industry.

Michael Wardian succeeds Franz Josef Eder, who held the position of VÖB President from 2016 to 2023. Wardian will focus his activities as the newly elected VÖB President on the topic of sustainability: “The construction industry in Austria is currently facing huge challenges. The Association of Austrian Concrete and Precast Plants, as an important representative of the interests of this industry, also has a special responsibility to further develop the necessary framework conditions for sustainable and competitive construction with precast concrete elements in the coming years. The reduction of the CO2 footprint, recyclability and digitalization are the central topics that will occupy our association intensively in the coming years. I want to make a significant contribution to making the Austrian precast industry fit for the future,” says Wardian.

The VÖB management team is delighted with the appointment of the new VÖB President: “With twenty years of experience in the Austrian precast industry, Michael Wardian is an outstanding expert in the industry who will position the VÖB even more strongly in the climate protection and sustainability debate with a great deal of expertise, vision and courage,” say the two VÖB Managing Directors Anton Glasmaier and Paul Kubeczko in unison.

Born in Mödling, Wardian studied business administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. After several years of professional experience as a Senior SAP Consultant, he has held various positions within the Kirchdorfer Group since 2003, including Head of Controlling and Chief Finance Officer. He has been Managing Director of Kirchdorfer Fertigteilholding GmbH since January 2013. In January 2022, he joined the Group Executive Board and has been the second Managing Director of the Kirchdorfer Group alongside Erich Frommwald ever since. Michael Wardian is married and has two children. In his free time, he is a passionate jogger and swimmer, among other things.
